Wow, that’s a scary thought. The first video is out there and ready for the world to see and this one takes you back to 2020 when we first talked about this grand plan, looked at a boat, and sailed her up from Santa Barbara to Monterey. Even though we are 2000 miles into our adventure we didn’t want to make real time videos because it won’t give our friends and family (and the other random 2 people that stumble across our videos) a good picture of how this crazy idea turned into a plan, and then turned into reality. It didn’t just happen overnight, it actually took 4 years, but don’t worry we’re not doing too deep of a dive into the process. In the next few weeks we’ll share how we bought the boat, planned our timeline, moved aboard, and got ready to set sail before actually diving into the cruising adventure of sailing down the California coast and Baja Mexico. We hope you enjoy the videos, maybe get inspired to go on your own adventure, and please give us some grace as we are amateur filmmakers and the footage from a few years ago isn’t the greatest quality.

The 2 month long saga of trying to fix our old top loading fridge, then trying to find a new marine fridge, trying to get it delivered to Mexico, demolishing the old fridge, and making a perfect cutout for our new fridge, is over. We are so stoked with our new front opening @isothermrefrigeration fridge and it even has a light inside! Now we just need to get the remaining fiberglass and sawdust out of the boat 😂😂😂 After 2 months without a fridge we finally got a new @isothermrefrigeration marine fridge delivered to us in Mexico. The story of the order process is a whole saga but we’re over the moon to now have it on the boat, wired up, and it even has a light inside!!! No more headlamps rummaging through the fridge at night 😂😂😂 Beauty of Baja. Sailing as the sun is coming up and lighting the mountain ridge with shades of red and pink is indescribable and we’re grateful to get to experience in the person. Only a few more days until Armand no longer has his Harry Potter bedroom 😂😂😂 Some ultra-wealthy Walmart heiress may own the land here, but no one owns the oceans and seas so we dropped hook in one of the prettiest and clearest anchorages in Baja. It’s 69 and raining in La Paz and we’re just dreaming of the hot summer days in Bahia de Los Angeles. Working hard or hardly working? What happens when it’s summertime in the sea and there’s a hurricane heading our way? We find a hurricane hole, which is an area with the best protection from swell and high winds, and hope for the best. Here’s nearly every cruiser that stuck around Bahía de Los Angeles this summer, holed up in Don Juan waiting for Hurricane Lorena. Luckily Lorena took a turn towards the pacific and we all went back to our regularly scheduled summertime activities 🎣🍻🌊👙🏖️⛵️🍹 What motivates us to get boat repairs and projects done? The thought of getting back to places where water looks like this at 25 ft. If we haven’t already made the point yet, Baja is truly paradise on earth. It’s our Mexico sailing anniversary 🇲🇽⛵️🎉. A year ago we arrived in the marina in Ensenada, in the dark (typical for us, we miscalculated how long it would take us to sail there) and started our cruising Mexico adventure. It’s been a wild ride to say the least. We’ve laughed, cried, cursed a lot, learned more than we ever wanted to, improved our sailing skills and confidence exponentially, explored insanely beautiful places, lived off grid, and made the most incredible lifelong friends along the way. If this was the first year, we can’t wait to see what the next year brings. After months in the wilds of northern Baja, the feral boat goblin has been scrubbed, polished, and released into civilization…dazzled by marina lights and thrilled to start new adventures that don’t involve dragging a dinghy through sand and surf, and hunting and gathering for dinner. Although let’s be honest, we can’t wait to spearfish again.
