Slowly working on it…

We’re about 2,000 miles into our nautical adventure and have yet to give you any updates, highlights, Youtube videos, or blogs. We are super sorry to leave you hanging especially after we made these grand announcements of quitting our jobs to sail the world. Even after 7 months of cruising full time we’re still getting into the groove of things and finding time to balance fun, boat work, regular life stuff (cooking, cleaning, laundry, dog walks, etc), and the social media stuff. While it’s been easy to keep Instagram and Facebook updated (check out @smocosailing), we’ve stalled on blogging and making Youtube videos, partly because blogging and making good quality videos (we don’t do anything half a$$) takes time, but also because putting our life out there opens it up to judgement and negative commentary from the couch sailors and keyboard warriors that we don’t want to be a part of. That’s something we just need to get over. The good news is that we do have 2 videos in the queue that will take you back to the start of planning this adventure, the bad news is after we made the 2 videos our external hard drive with 4 years worth of footage crashed so we’re slowly recovering that data. Once we finish that project we’ll start cranking out videos, and in the meantime we’ll keep you updated on this blog. We’ve created a section here under About the Boat and the Crew where you can track where we are currently at via the Marine Traffic site/app. It’s actually a really cool way to see boat traffic all over the world and if you’ve got any other boater friends you can probably find their vessels there too. Stay tune for more SmoCo adventures and adios until the next post!
